Some people believe that if a medicine is being diluted to a point where its molecular structure has been entirely changed, then it cannot possibly have the same effect that the original molecule had. In fact, most homeopathic medicines are diluted to such an extent that they are not even able to be seen - this is why homeopathic remedies are generally given in a capsule or powder form.
